Green: It's everyone’s buzzword today. At SoCal Shred, it’s not just lip service. 100% of your shredded documents are recycled. Our truck takes all shredded material to a recycling plant daily. It is widely accepted, albeit surprisingly, that it takes approximately 17 trees to produce one ton of paper. So through the course of our normal business we save about 60 trees a day! You can be a part of that by employing SoCal Shred for your document destruction needs. Additionally, as a supplement to our routine service shredding your confidential material, we can provide paper recycling bins, free of charge, for your non-sensitive documents – the ones that may currently be going in the trash!
SoCal Shred’s mobile shredding truck is built on a 2007 chassis. This is important because of the “2007 Heavy-Duty Highway Rule” in which the EPA required a 90% reduction in emissions from diesel trucks. We waited to buy our new truck until this reduced-emission engine was available, even though fuel costs for the newer technology would increase substantially. In contrast, many of our competitors “snatched up” the last 2006 chassis trucks (which were sold well into late 2007) to save on their fuel costs. At SoCal Shred, we are always looking to make the right environmental decisions. Needless to say, we sleep well at night.
